Gov Mohammed Seeks Solar, Water Solutions from Tunisia

Governor Bala Mohammed has sought Tunisia’s support in developing off-grid solar power and sustainable water supply systems as part of efforts to improve public services in Bauchi State.

The governor made the request during a bilateral meeting with the Tunisian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mohsen Antit, and members of his delegation at the Government House, Bauchi.

He said the state plans to deploy solar-powered electricity to hospitals, government offices and water facilities to reduce dependence on fossil fuel generators.

Mohammed also called for modern surveillance technology to improve forest monitoring and strengthen security operations against banditry.

He stressed the need for cost-effective water technologies to expand access to clean water in rural and underserved communities.

Ambassador Antit said the delegation’s visit was designed to deepen cooperation between Tunisia and Nigeria while assessing investment opportunities in Bauchi. The team had earlier toured selected facilities across the state.
