PFIPC: Adeyemi Urges FG to Set Up Independent Probe Panel

The Director-General of the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Prince Ademola Adeniyi, has called on the Federal Government to constitute an independent panel to investigate the controversy surrounding the agency, insisting that only a transparent and impartial inquiry can establish the true facts behind the matter.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, on Monday, Adeyemi said the way forward to unravel the crisis is for an independent panel to probe the crisis. He maintained that an independent investigation would help clear lingering doubts and ensure that all allegations and counter-allegations are thoroughly examined without prejudice.

Adeyemi said the proposed probe should comprise respected members of the judiciary, civil society organisations, the Nigerian Bar Association, anti-corruption experts and other credible stakeholders to guarantee transparency and public confidence in the outcome.

According to him, the investigation should determine the legal status of the PFIPC, examine the circumstances surrounding its operations and establish whether due government procedures were followed in its activities.

Adeyemi argued that an open and credible process would protect the integrity of government institutions while ensuring that innocent persons are not unfairly accused or prosecuted.

He stressed that he was prepared to cooperate fully with any lawful and independent investigation, expressing confidence that such a process would reveal the true circumstances surrounding the controversy.

Adeyemi said: “The truth has nothing to fear from an independent investigation. Nigerians deserve a transparent process that will objectively examine all the facts and allow justice to prevail.

“Since October 2025, I have appeared in court four times between November 27, 2025 and June 16, 2026, and it was only once that I was absent. It was the court that adjourned for three times.

“This is why I’m pleading with our father, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to unravel the truth through an independent panel. I appreciate him for asking the ICPC to investigate the matter but sorry to say, government cannot investigate itself.

“The Presidency has already exonerated Femi Gbajabiamila but I have counter evidence against them. Let Mr President please set up an independent panel, which will comprise international organisations and civil society across the globe.

“If Mr President is willing in his power to set up the panel, I will come out to show evidences and the President will provide security for me and every other person that wants to come out to talk. I’m not running away and that is why I’m appealing to Mr President to set up an investigative panel to unravel the truth.”

Speaking on presidential directive for the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) to probe the allegations, Adeyemi said he does not have confidence that ICPC would carry out proper investigation.

“I’m not condemning any government agency but there is no way ICPC will indict the Chief of Staff to the President if at all anything is wrong but let an independent panel determine whether Adeniyi is lying against the Chief of Staff and if I’m lying, I’m ready to face the rot of the law.

“Let me get a fair hearing that is all I’m pleading for. I’m not a con artist and it is only an independent panel that would unravel the truth and say whether I’m right or wrong. I want to reiterate again that my life is in danger and I know what I’m saying,” he said.

Adeyemi is billed to appear at the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Tuesday.
