The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the August 8, 2026 Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has congratulated the pupils, teachers and other victims recently rescued after spending more than 50 days in captivity following their abduction in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Oyebamiji described their rescue as heartwarming and a testament to the unwavering commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Oyebamiji expressed profound relief that the victims had safely regained their freedom and reunited with their families after weeks of uncertainty and anguish.
He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the rescued victims and their families, who endured the traumatic period with courage, faith and resilience, praying that they recover fully from the unfortunate experience.
The APC governorship candidate also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the leadership and support that enabled the security agencies to intensify efforts leading to the successful rescue.
He equally applauded the gallantry, professionalism and sacrifice of the Nigerian military and other security agencies involved in the operation.
Oyebamiji further congratulated the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the government and people of Oyo State on the successful outcome, noting that the rescue has brought renewed hope to citizens and reinforced confidence in the nation’s security institutions.
“This successful rescue is a source of joy to all Nigerians. It demonstrates that with determination, cooperation and effective leadership, our security agencies can overcome criminal elements threatening the peace of our communities.
“I congratulate the rescued pupils, teachers and every other victim on their freedom. I rejoice with their families, whose prayers and hope have finally been rewarded. I also commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde, the Nigerian military and all security agencies whose coordinated efforts made this rescue possible.
“We must continue to support our security agencies with timely information and collective vigilance while praying for lasting peace and security across our nation,” Oyebamiji said.
He prayed that God would grant the rescued victims quick healing, renewed strength and the grace to overcome the emotional and psychological impact of their ordeal.
