2027: Tinubu Has No Opposition, Says Kalu

The senator of Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has called on the All Progressive Congress, APC, political structures including Reality Organisation and the Orji Uzor Kalu, OUK Movement, to close ranks and work for the victory of President Bola Tinubu, National Assembly members and other candidates of the party in 2027.

Addressing leaders of the Abia State APC, Reality Organisation and OUK Movement at a critical stakeholders meeting at his country home, Camp Neya, Igbere in Bende LGA, urged members to bury any misgivings arising from the party’s congress and primary election and take advantage of the prevailing unity in the party to win the election at all levels.

“My greatest desire is to see President Tinubu win Abia and be reelected with National Assembly members and other candidates of the party in 2027. We must do everything possible to win,” Kalu said declaring that since he started his political journey as member of the House of Representatives, governor and Senator, he has never asked anyone to rig election for him.

“Any time the people stop voting for me I will stop contesting. I’m in politics to help people, not for personal gains. I have a private company employing over 15,000 people .

‘My desire is to rule the world, either economically or politically, that is why I have business establishments beyond the shores of Nigeria.”

According to him, President Tinubu deserves a second term because he has done well, especially at the micro economic level, though the macro level is yet to pick because of insecurity.

He said the present economic challenges is not peculiar to Nigeria but a global phenomenon, which the country would soon overcome.

The former Abia State governor said the meeting included the party so that it would work together with the political structures to reach farther at the grassroots.

The opposition, according to him, is in tatters and not capable of challenging Tinubu. He maintained that it would be misleading for anyone, especially those clamouring for Peter Obi presidency, to think that the south East alone can win the presidency.

In an interview with journalists, Kalu said he has been an advocate of state police and assured that the Senate would handle the clause in which people fear that governors may use it to fight the opposition.

He explained that the lawmakers have just passed the law to remove it from the constitution as the Nigeria Police Force.

The two term senator said the APC government has done well considering the realities on ground when it came in as a government, adding that President Tinubu has taken bold economic measures that would soon put Nigeria back on track.

The chairman of the South East Development Commission committee, said that with the current security measure taken, which has put the bandits in disarray, farmers would soon return to farm and the economy would recover.
