Bandits Attacks Community in Southern Kaduna, burn Houses

Panic gripped Fagenrawa village in Kauru Local Government Area of Southern Kaduna on Saturday after suspected armed bandits stormed the community, setting houses and other properties ablaze.

A resident, Rev. Musa Hassan Shadari, told our correspondent that the attack lasted for about an hour. He said residents fled their homes on sighting the invaders, while others ran for their lives.

Residents were sent out of their houses at the time of the invasion, while some fled for their lives and bandits were invited, according Rev. Shadari.

“They’ve already sent us out from our houses. Now that I am sending you this message they are in our houses and they invited their people to our communities,” he stated.

As of the time of filing this report, no casualties had been announced, but several houses and other properties were set ablaze by the attackers.

The area has reportedly experienced several banditry attacks previously, appealing for urgent government intervention to provide security for the community.

“Tell me what do you want to hear from us sir,” he asked.

As at the time of filing this report, no official statement has been issued by the Kaduna State Government or the State Police Command on the incident.
