Police Arrest 3 Over Armed Robbery, Drug Peddling, Cultism in Anambra

Three persons have been arrested by the Anambra state Police Command for armed robbery, drug peddling and cult related activities.

The arrests made while officers and men of the Command were on patrol along the Igbariam/Achalla Road, and the three persons include Williams Ndifon and David Missang, both aged 27 years who were ridding on a Daylong motorcycle during the arrest.

Police spokesman SP Tochukwu Ikenga narrated that: “A thorough search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of the following items: One locally made Beretta pistol, One Daylong motorcycle, One live ammunition, Six GSM phones, Two power banks, One sledgehammer, One chisel/metal crack tool. Quantities of substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa and One black polo shirt bearing the inscription “Nigeria Army Barracks Youths Foundation (NABYF)”.

Similarly on the same date, 19th June 2026, at about 6:00 pm, operatives acting on intelligence, arrested one Oluchukwu Onyekwe, male, 21 years old at Agukwu Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The suspect was found in possession of appreciable quantities of dried weeds suspected to be Cannabis Sativa. Preliminary investigations also linked the suspect to cult-related activities in the area.

The Command urges residents to continue supporting the Police with credible and timely information to enhance public safety and security.
