Police Deploy Mobile Courts to Tackle Unregistered Vehicles in Bauchi

Bauchi State Police Command has commenced a statewide enforcement operation against unregistered vehicles and motorists using concealed, fake or unauthorized number plates, describing such vehicles as a major security threat.

Contained in a press release signed by the Command PPRO SP Nafi’u Habib Wednesday in Bauchi, said that the operation, which is being carried out in compliance with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, is aimed at curbing crimes often perpetrated with untraceable vehicles.

Nafi’u further explained that the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, said the command had partnered with the judiciary to deploy mobile courts across the state’s five Area Commands and strategic locations within Bauchi metropolis for the speedy prosecution of offenders.

According to him, vehicles without proper registration or bearing obscured number plates are frequently used in criminal activities, including kidnapping and armed robbery.

He warned that offenders would face immediate prosecution, while vehicles found violating registration regulations would be impounded. The police boss stressed that the exercise is intended to enhance public safety rather than harass law-abiding motorists.

The command urged vehicle owners to regularise their registration documents and ensure proper display of number plates as enforcement continues across the state.
