Kaduna Political leader decamp to PDP, cites party readiness

A leading politician in Kajuru and Chikun LGAs of Kaduna State, Hon. Isah Danssaallah, has formally resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a declaration statement dated June 7, 2026, Danssaallah said the decision followed “extensive consultations with my political associates, supporters, community leaders, and stakeholders across Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas.”

He cited provisions of the Electoral Act, as amended, and recent judicial pronouncements, emphasizing the need for political parties to submit membership records and candidate lists well ahead of general elections.

According to him, this made a “timely and informed political decision” necessary regarding his future participation in Nigeria’s democratic process.

“After due consideration of the prevailing circumstances within the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and having assessed the readiness, organization, and prospects of the various opposition parties, I have resolved that it is in the best interest of my supporters, political associates, and the people we represent to seek a more stable and viable political platform,” he stated.

Danssaallah announced his resignation from the ADC with immediate effect and declared his membership of the PDP, describing it as “a party whose nationwide structure, democratic traditions, and commitment to providing a credible opposition continue to offer hope to millions of Nigerians.”

He stated that the move was motivated by the desire to contribute meaningfully to democracy, good governance, social justice, and development of his communities, Kaduna State, and Nigeria.

The political leader appreciated ADC members who worked with him and wished them success.

He also urged his supporters across Kajuru and Chikun LGAs to “remain steadfast, united, and committed to the pursuit of a better future for our people,” adding that “together, we shall continue to work for a stronger democracy and a more prosperous Nigeria.”
