2027: COSEYL Urges Abia North Aspirants To Back Kalu’s Re-election

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, has called on senatorial aspirants in Abia North to shelve partisan interests and support the re-election of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for sustained development.

In a statement on Saturday by its President General, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, the apex South East socio-political youth group said its call followed an assessment of Kalu’s performance, leadership capacity, and development strides across the district.

“Leadership is measured by results, and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has undoubtedly raised the bar of representation in Abia North,” COSEYL stated.

The group cited “unprecedented infrastructural development, educational support, youth empowerment, economic interventions, and people-oriented projects” as proof of Kalu’s impact. These include road construction and rehabilitation, school renovations, distribution of learning materials, scholarships, and various constituency projects.

COSEYL noted that Kalu’s recent distribution of educational materials to schools across Abia North underscores his belief that education remains the foundation for sustainable development and human capital advancement.

“Communities that were previously neglected have benefitted from strategic interventions, while countless youths have been empowered through programmes designed to create opportunities and improve livelihoods,” the statement read.

The group said Abia North’s interest is best served by “continuity, stability, and sustained development” and urged other aspirants across political parties to objectively assess Kalu’s record and support “a leadership that has delivered tangible results.”

“This is not a call motivated by politics; it is a call inspired by performance, development, and the desire to consolidate on the gains already achieved,” COSEYL added.

“Elections should ultimately be about the welfare of the people, and where a leader has demonstrated exceptional capacity and commitment, such leadership deserves broad support.”

COSEYL reaffirmed its commitment to promoting good governance, accountable leadership, and sustainable development across the South East, stressing that backing proven leadership is essential to achieving those objectives.
