Senate Confirms Umeano As Code Of Conduct Bureau Board Member

The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Benedict Umeano as a member of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

The Upper Chamber made the confirmation following the consideration and adoption of a report by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions.

The Chairman of the Committee and Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Neda Imasuen, presented the report during the plenary session.

The apex legislative assembly approved the nomination of Umeano through a voice vote conducted by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.

President Bola Tinubu had forwarded a letter to the Red Chamber, requesting for confirmation of Umeano’s appointment.

Speaking after the confirmation, Akpabio congratulated the nominee and wished him a successful tenure.

“Let me thank the President for the appointment, and congratulate Barrister Umeano and members of his family and wish him a very successful service through the Code of Conduct Bureau of his fatherland.

“May God guide him and grant him wisdom to do the right thing for the benefit of this country,” Akpabio wished Umeano.
