Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated President on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The governor described Tinubu’s victory at the party’s primary election as well deserved, saying it reflected the confidence and trust party members across the country continued to place in his leadership.
Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued on Monday and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, also commended the peaceful conduct of the APC primaries across the country.
He praised party executives in the states and members of the National Working Committee for organising what he described as a credible and well-coordinated exercise.
“I congratulate our leader and President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the APC for the 2027 election,” the governor said.
“This victory reflects the confidence and trust that party members across the country continue to place in his leadership and his commitment to building a better Nigeria.”
The governor further stated that the adoption of direct primaries by the party demonstrated its commitment to strengthening internal democracy and allowing members greater participation in the candidate selection process.
Sanwo-Olu also praised President Tinubu’s economic reforms, noting that the administration had taken bold decisions aimed at stabilising the economy and laying the foundation for sustainable growth.
“Over the last few years, President Tinubu has taken important decisions aimed at stabilising the economy and laying the foundation for long-term growth. At critical moments, leadership requires courage and the willingness to take decisions that will move the country forward,” he said.
The governor expressed confidence that Nigerians would continue to support policies focused on courage, development and sustainable progress.
“The journey continues, and together, we will keep working towards a nation that gives every citizen a fair opportunity to succeed,” Sanwo-Olu added.
