Pep Guardiola has dismissed reports linking him with a summer exit from Manchester City, insisting that he will remain at the club beyond this season.
The Spaniard spoke on Friday ahead of City’s FA Cup final clash against Chelsea on Saturday.
Guardiola has faced speculation over his future despite having one year left on his current contract with the Premier League champions.
Reacting to rumours that he could step down at the end of the campaign, the 55-year-old ruled out any immediate departure from the Etihad Stadium.
“No way. I have one more year on my contract,” Guardiola said during his pre-match press conference.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach also reflected on his successful spell at City since arriving in 2016.
When asked if his time at the club could be described as greatness, Guardiola pointed to the number of trophies won under his leadership.
“Yeah, of course, 19 titles in 10 years is not bad,” he added.
Guardiola has enjoyed one of the most successful managerial reigns in English football history, winning multiple Premier League titles, domestic cups and the UEFA Champions League with City.
