Turaki, Wabara Impersonating PDP – Alleges Wike Faction

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, said it has petitioned security agencies, accusing the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Adolphus Wabara, and Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, of impersonation.

PDP faction backed by Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, had on May 4, inaugurated a 13-man Interim National Working Committee (INWC) headed by Turaki, to run the affairs of the party, following the nullification of Ibadan national convention held last year.

The National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, said it was an impersonation of the PDP.

Senator Anyanwu disclosed that the party has written to the security agencies, the police, and the Department of State Service (DSS), alleging that Wabara, Turaki, and others have already been invited.

He expressed the hope that they would be prosecuted.

The National Secretary that the party has obtained the certified true copy (CTC) of the Supreme Court, and accused the media of causing confusion in the PDP.

“There is only one PDP today. INEC has been here, has verified the current NWC,” he said, and challenged the Turaki-led faction to tell Nigerians the address of its national secretariat.
