New Power Minister: I Can’t Promise 24-Hour Light but…

Nigeria’s new Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, has assured Nigerians that noticeable improvements will soon be made in the country’s electricity sector, although he admitted that uninterrupted power supply cannot be guaranteed immediately.

Speaking during an interaction with Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, the minister acknowledged the challenges facing the power sector while promising decisive action.
“I can’t promise 24-hours power supply but Nigerians will notice improvements,” he said.
Tegbe also expressed confidence in his plans for the sector, stating that difficult but necessary decisions would be taken to improve electricity distribution and supply across the country.
“We will take difficult decisions, give me 3 months to fix electricity,” the minister added.
His comments come amid growing public frustration over persistent power outages, high electricity tariffs, and unstable supply affecting homes and businesses nationwide.
