2027: Ortom distances self from presidential election posters

The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom yesterday officially distanced himself from reports and posters suggesting he is contesting the 2027 presidential election for which his posters have already flooded the state.

Chief Ortom stated that he has no intention to contest any elective office in next year’s polls.

In a statement tagged: “Fake Poster Alert: Ortom Not In 2027 Presidential Race”, by his Media Adviser, Dr. Terver Akase, the former governor described the publication as “completely false, baseless, and an obvious handiwork of mischief makers bent on spreading confusion and misinformation.

“The attention of His Excellency Samuel Ortom has been drawn to a misleading poster making the rounds on social media, falsely claiming that the immediate past Governor of Benue State is vying for the 2027 presidential election.

“This claim is completely false, baseless, and an obvious handiwork of mischief makers bent on spreading confusion and misinformation.

“Chief Ortom has no ambition whatsoever for the 2027 presidential race.

“He has consistently and clearly stated that he will not be contesting for any political office in the forthcoming elections”.

Chief Ortom advised the public to disregard the said poster in its entirety, stressing that it is nothing more than a fabrication designed to mislead unsuspecting citizens and stir unnecessary political speculation.
