The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old suspect in connection with alleged criminal conspiracy, trespass and theft involving three smart television sets in Bauchi metropolis.
The suspect, identified as Saidu Isah, a resident of Almuri in Misau Local Government Area, was apprehended on May 3, 2026, by operatives of ‘E’ Division, Yelwa, during a routine patrol.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, the suspect was arrested at about 9:16 a.m. in possession of three smart television sets, each valued at ₦400,000.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly conspired with another individual identified simply as Abdul, also known as “PA”, who is currently at large.
“The duo, in furtherance of their unlawful act, trespassed into the premises of the National Broadcasting Commission located behind Elim Church, Yelwan Tudu, Bauchi, and carted away the three television sets,” the statement said.
The police spokesperson disclosed that the suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend the fleeing accomplice.
He added that the case is under active investigation at the ‘E’ Division, and the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of preliminary investigations.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency lines.
The Command reiterated its determination to sustain the ongoing crackdown on criminal activities across the state.
