The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has succeeded in hitting hard a 4-man syndicate of motorcycle snatchers who also disturb peace in some parts of the state including Gusau the state capital.
Parading the suspects at the Command’s headquarters Gusau, the Command’s Head of Public Relations, ASCI Umar Mohammad M. who spoke on behalf of the NSCDC boss, Commandant Mustapha Sani, said the suspected criminals were arrested by the operatives of the command in Gusau and Bukkuyum Local Government areas respectively.
The ASCI Muhammad, stated that the command’s investigation on the issue revealed that two suspects were arrested in Gusau and Bukkuyum on the 24th and 26th of April respectively.
According to him, Bashir Hassan a 29 years old popularly called (Dan Musa) slipped into NSCDC’s net at the crime scene in Saminaka area of Gusau, while Tanimu Muhammadu a 25 years old was arrested at Nasara Burkullu market of Bukkuyum Local Government.
The NSCDC Spokesperson informed that, while investigation by operatives, it was revealed that, Bashir Hassan was from Mainamaje, Yankari gate of Akkaleri Local Government Bauchi state, arrested in possession of a suspected stolen Boxer (Bajaj) motorcycle.
ASCI Umar stated that, further investigation revealed that, Bashir Hassan named four accomplices who were at large, that included Bashir Muhammad, Lele, Uzairu Musa (Small) and Abdurrashid Abubakar (Abba).
He said the four accomplices conspired and operated as passengers in pairs who forcefully seized motorcycle from their victims.
“They similarly involved to related offences between 22nd to 24th April, 2026, adjacent to Huda University, off Sokoto bypass road, Gusau and Labin Labin area Tudun Wanda , Gusau.
ASCI Muhammad Umar, emphasized that, the Command under the Commandant Sani Mustapha, would continue to record zero tolerance for criminal conspiracy, violence, theft, criminality and other social vices in the state.
He explained that the apprehended suspects shall face astute investigation and will subsequently be arraigned before a competent court of law for prosecution.
“The command reiterated it’s resolve and determination to contain the aggressive motorcycle snatching problem in Zamfara state.” The Command’s Head of Public Relations has assured.
