…Promises to deliver more dividends of democracy
The lawmaker representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 01, Stephen Olukayode Ogundipe, has declared his intention to seek re-election for a second term into the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Speaking at the declaration, Ogundipe said the people should carefully assess his performance over the past two and a half years across the seven political wards of the constituency. He said the achievements are not mere words, they are visible, verifiable, and impactful.
He said: “From education to employment, healthcare to infrastructure, legislative advocacy to social welfare, we have remained committed to delivering real dividends of democracy. We have supported over 3,000 pupils through free coaching initiatives, empowered 1,200 youths with JAMB forms with remarkable success rates, and facilitated over 100 admissions into higher institutions.
“In employment and empowerment, we have created opportunities by securing jobs for our people and equipping over 200 individuals with vocational skills for sustainable livelihoods. In healthcare, we brought essential medical services closer to the grassroots, providing care and screenings for hundreds of residents.
“In infrastructure, we went beyond road rehabilitation, we opened up economic pathways, improved safety, and enhanced mobility for our traders and families, while expanding street lighting across strategic locations.
“In our pursuit of purposeful leadership, we have remained focused, setting aside distractions, sentiments, and unnecessary rhetoric to redefine quality representation in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency-01.
“Criticize if you must, but let it be constructive and rooted in truth. Let facts guide our discourse, because the records are clear and the data speaks for itself.
“In just two and a half years, we have delivered measurable progress across key areas of education, healthcare outreach, employment opportunities, youth empowerment and advocacy, infrastructure development, legislative engagement, welfare and constituency support, and public communication and accessibility.
“We call on all beneficiaries to share their experiences and stand boldly for the truth. As your representative, I have remained your voice at the Assembly, sponsoring people-centered bills, supporting progressive legislation, and raising motions on critical issues such as flooding, security, sanitation, and community welfare.
“Beyond legislation, we stood by you in challenging times, providing food support, financial assistance, and empowerment programs for women, youths, and young girls. We have stayed accessible, responsive, and committed to every segment of our constituency.
“My dear people, what you see today is a testament to what focused, sincere, and people-driven leadership can achieve. And I say this with humility: this is not the peak, it is only the beginning. The future holds even greater possibilities.
“I therefore seek your continued trust, your support, and your mandate once again, so we can consolidate on these gains and deliver even more dividends of democracy to every corner of our constituency.
“I urge us all to support me and align with the progressive policies and bold restructuring efforts of President Bola Tinubu, which are already yielding positive results across the nation. Equally, the THEMES Agenda of our hardworking Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, continues to redefine leadership and governance in Lagos State.”
Former Vice Chairman of Oshodi/Isolo Local Government, Daisi Oso, urged constituents to continue supporting him, noting that lawmaking requires experienced hands. He added that Ogundipe possesses the necessary experience to continue in office.
Oso further stated that if re-elected, Ogundipe would become a ranking member, a development he said would benefit the constituency.
A member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) and leader of the Oshodi/Isolo chapter of The Mandate Movement, Chief Muraina Akanbi Taiwo, represented by Elder Gbenga Arulogun, also called on constituents to back Ogundipe’s re-election bid.
Taiwo urged party members to remain united to secure victory for the APC at the polls, while commending the National President of the NURTW, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), for his efforts in fostering unity within the constituency.
The GAC leader also endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, and Ogundipe for the 2027 elections.
In his remarks, Musiliu Akinsanya expressed the group’s readiness for the primary election, stating that it is prepared regardless of whether the process involves delegates.
He added that road construction is the responsibility of the council chairman, not lawmakers, stressing that legislators should not be blamed for such projects.
Akinsanya also endorsed President Tinubu for a second term, Obafemi Hamzat for Lagos governor, and Hon. Stephen Ogundipe for re-election.
