Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has reaffirmed his commitment to equity, justice and fairness, pledging that the agitation for the Gombe Central Senatorial seat to rotate to Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area will receive due consideration.
The governor gave the assurance while receiving a large delegation from Akko Local Government Area on a solidarity visit to Government House, Gombe.
The visit follows a similar appeal by stakeholders from Yamaltu/Deba, who had earlier canvassed for the zoning of the senatorial seat to their area.
Governor Inuwa commended the people of Akko for what he described as political maturity and a sense of fairness in supporting their Yamaltu/Deba counterparts after years of holding the seat.
He said their position would be communicated to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that inclusiveness and peaceful coexistence must guide political decisions.
The governor also urged party members to remain united ahead of 2027, emphasizing that electoral success depends on loyalty, performance and discipline.
Leaders of the Akko delegation, including federal lawmaker Usman Bello Kumo and Speaker of the State Assembly, Abubakar Luggerewo, pledged support for equity and any consensus arrangement that promotes unity.
