A Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army deployed to the Northeast Operation Hadin Kai has reportedly said to have paid the Supreme Price, in attack by Boko Haram insurgents in Benisheik, town of Maga local government areas of Bormo state what is been described as a heavy loss in the fight against insurgency in the North East.
The Army General was killed in a multiple attacks launched by the members of Boko Haram terrorists across four locations last night in Borno state.
The Insurgents first attack was in Pulka and Bakin Ruwa, both in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno, at about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday., while the other two were in Ngamdu and Benisheik in Kaga local.government area of the state.
During the attack on Pulka, the insurgents were said to have overran a military base, setting a number of hardware and construction machinery belonging to the state government ablaze.
The Boko Haram insurgents were also said to have carted away food items from two shops in Pulka town.
While the Benisheik attack along Maiduguri Damaguru road was said to have occured at about 12:00 a.m on same Wednesday when the town was invaded by the insurgents.
In the Benisheikh attack, the terrorist were said to have overran the 29 Task Force Brigade, killing the Brigade Commander, destroying several military vehicles.
The insurgents were said to have killed the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General O.O. Braimah who stood his grounds to defend the base and his men, including the civilian population.
The Boko Haram insurgents also burnt down some transit vehicles in the town after operating for more than three hours.
The attack on Ngamdu, which is close to Benisheikh, appears to have been a diversion aimed at preventing reinforcements from reaching Benisheikh.Similarly the attack on the Bakin Ruwa military base appears to have served as a diversion for the Pulka assault.
