Kaduna State Government has promised to provides update on the explosion incident at Mando Motor Park in the early hours of 5th April 2026, Easter day.
Earlier statement by the Kaduna State Police Command, confirm that the incident involved a CNG-powered bus operated by Silver Luxury Travel, with a minor explosion traced to a technical fault linked to overfilling.
The statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, explained that preliminary findings confirm that the incident involved a CNG-powered bus operated by Silver Luxury Travel, with a minor explosion traced to a technical fault linked to overfilling.
Kaduna state government noted that there was no bomb explosion, and no casualties or property loss were recorded, adding that the situation was swiftly contained, and normal activities have since resumed.
Demonstrating decisive leadership, Governor Uba Sani, the statement noted, has ordered a sweeping multi-agency investigation to ascertain both the immediate and underlying causes of the incident.
“The probe will involve relevant security agencies, technical regulators, and safety authorities to ensure full accountability and strengthen operational standards for CNG usage across the state”, it added.
The Governor also commends the Kaduna State Police Command, particularly the Bomb Disposal Unit, for their prompt and professional response in securing the area and ensuring public safety.
Reassured residents, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, emphasized that the incident was purely technical and not a security threat, urging citizens to remain calm, rely on verified information, and go about their lawful activities.
“The Kaduna State Government remains fully committed to the protection of lives and property and will continue to keep the public informed as investigations progress,” Ahmed Maiyaki said.
