Police nab serial kidnapper who harvests victims organs in Rivers

Operatives of the Rivers State Police command has arrested a serial kidnapper, Kelechi Wofuru, who specializes in kidnapping and dismembering the bodies of his victims for financial benefits.

The victim was apprehended by the operatives following an investigation embarked on by Harrison Gwamnishu, who runs SafeCity Volunteer Foundation, and social media personality who tracks the activities of kidnappers.

Wofuru, was said to have operated freely for many years with his gang members, abducting mainly bus drivers and passengers along the Omagwa/Isiokpo/Elele Road.

The operation that led to the suspect was a joint effort by the office of the Commander of the Special Intelligence and Operations Unit, and my Rivers SafeCity team, led by Adebayo Steve.

Gwamnishu in a video, showing Wofuru leading operatives to a forest in Ubima in Ikwerre Local Government Area where he dumped the body of his last victim, noted that the suspect was arrested for kidnapping last year’s, and was arraigned in court last November, but was freed.

He added that what led to his arrest and arraignment was kidnap related, noting that the bodies of seven victims are still missing.

His last victim, Ifeanyi Ibobo, a commercial bus driver had been declared missing for days, with family members and friends searching for him all over Port Harcourt and environs.

His decomposing body was found after the suspect led them to the place he dumped the body of the deceased.
