Easter: Bauchi Christians Preach Peace, Renew Hope in Christ’s Resurrection

Messages of peace, unity, and renewed hope took centre stage as Christians in Bauchi State gathered to celebrate Easter, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

At the ECWA Gospel Church in Rafin Zurfi, worshippers filled the auditorium with songs of praise and thanksgiving, reflecting on the significance of Christ’s sacrifice and victory over death.

Delivering a message on behalf of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the state secretary, Rev. Mathew Wakili, urged believers to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence with people of other faiths.

He described Easter as a season of rebirth and spiritual renewal, calling on Christians to live exemplary lives rooted in love and tolerance.

The Senior Special Assistant on Christian Religious Affairs, Zakkah L. Magaji, also encouraged the faithful to remain steadfast in prayer for the peace and progress of the state and the nation.

Clerics and worshippers alike shared messages of hope, emphasising that the resurrection of Jesus Christ remains a symbol of salvation and redemption for mankind.

The celebration featured vibrant hymns by youth groups, prayers for national unity, and acts of charity, including donations to support the less privileged.
