Ndidi Questions Refereeing After Beşiktaş Loss to Fenerbahçe

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has raised concerns over the officiating in Beşiktaş’ 1-0 defeat to Istanbul rivals Fenerbahçe in a Turkish Süper Lig clash on Sunday.

The game at Chobani Stadium was decided by a controversial penalty awarded late in the match. Emmanuel Agbadou of Ivory Coast was judged to have fouled Dorgeles Nené inside the box, but replays suggested that the defender had won the ball cleanly.

Ndidi vented his frustration on social media, questioning the role of VAR in the decision. “How can you have VAR and decide not to check? I’m still trying to understand,” he wrote on Instagram.

The result saw Beşiktaş lose ground in the league, while the penalty decision continues to stir debate among fans and pundits alike.
