Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved a ₦10,000 monthly salary top‑up for all state and local government workers for the next three months, starting in April, as a direct cushion against rising transport and living costs.
The governor said the intervention is meant to ease the pressure on workers during the current economic hardship, and added that the state will review the situation after the three‑month window to determine whether an extension is necessary.
In his words, “We know things are tough. This support is to ease the pressure on our workers as we navigate these challenging times.”
