Chidoka Tasks Ndigbo Over Wrong Role Models

Former Minister for Aviation Chief Osita Chidoka had tasks the Igbo Nation towards celebrating integrity and hard work through the production. of role models for the future Igbo generation.

Chidoka further stated that the practice of celebrating people with questionable characters and those that do not have verifiable means of livelihood as role models has been the bane of Igbo society.

Speaking at the he re -naming of Limca road after the former Secretary General of the Common Wealth of Nations Chief Emeka Anyaoku by the Idemili North Council Area, Chidoka noted that the Igbos must be deliberate about who and what to celebrate .

“This is a powerful example of what we must celebrate as a people.”

“Chief Emeka Anyaoku embodies discipline, excellence, and honour. From Nigeria to the global stage, he served with distinction and left office with an unblemished record. That is the standard we must uphold,” he said.

Chidoka urged Ndi Igbo to draw clear lessons from the moment.

“We must be deliberate about what we celebrate. We must raise more men and women like Emeka Anyaoku, grounded in education, guided by values, and respected globally. Igboland must be known for integrity, hard work, and service.”

The renaming of Ichie Emeka Anyaoku Road stands as both recognition and direction—an enduring reminder of the values that must shape the future.

Announcing the decision, the Chairman of Idemili North LGA, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka, described Chief Anyaoku as “a worthy role model whose life of discipline, service, and global distinction represents the very best of our people.”

“This honour is to inspire our young people,” he added. “We want them to see clearly that integrity, excellence, and service to humanity are values worth pursuing.”

During an earlier visit by the Chairman and his delegation, Chief Emeka Anyaoku expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, noting that the recognition from his own local government made it especially meaningful and memorable.
