Damilola Ayinde Marshall, daughter of Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde, has announced her intention to contest for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 elections.
Marshall, who currently serves as Senior Special Assistant on Tourism to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, made the announcement on Tuesday through a post on Instagram, where she expressed her readiness to represent Surulere Constituency II.
In her message, the lawyer said she is stepping forward to serve the people and bring effective representation to the constituency.
“I am excited to share that I, Barr. Damilola Ayinde Marshall, am stepping forward to serve the good people of Surulere Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly,” she wrote.
Marshall, who has practiced law for 12 years, noted that her professional experience has shaped her understanding of governance, justice, and the needs of her community.
“I am a woman of excellence and results. I am ready to serve and lead. With my background, I am fully prepared and ready to fight for what truly matters. I promise to be the voice of the youths in the House.
“As a young woman, I believe this is exactly what my people need right now, and that is why I decided to step forward,” she added.
She also urged voters to support competence and progress, ending her message with the slogan: “Youth Lokan!!! Igbega Eko, Ajumose wa ni.”
Marshall is expected to succeed Mosunmola Rotimi Sangodara, who currently represents the constituency under the All Progressives Congress.
The aspiring lawmaker is the second daughter of KWAM1. She earned her law degree from North America University and was called to the Nigerian Bar on December 15, 2015. She later obtained a Master of Laws degree from the University of Lagos in 2022.
