‎2027: Hundreds Of APC, ADC, LP Supporters Join PDP In Benue

Hundreds of supporters from the All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Labour Party (LP) at the weekend defected to the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ayilamo, Tombo Council Ward of Logo Local Government Area, Benue State.

‎Receiving the defectors, the PDP Zonal Chairman for Zone A, Hon. Abraham Waroh, charged them to remain committed and work collectively for the party’s victory in next year’s general elections.

‎Hon. Waroh described the present administration in the state as “a disaster for Benue State, saying the Governor had performed abysmally, particularly in the area of security, adding that people of the state must do everything possible to vote out Governor Alia and install a governor that will take their safety seriously.

‎He assured the new members of equal opportunities within the PDP and urged them to join forces with the party to vote out the APC administration in Benue State in the 2027 elections.

‎Leaders of the defectors, including a former APC Youth Leader in Tombo, Kahaga Vaatyough, alongside Sam Nyajo of the LP and Tyopev Aondoaseer of ADC, said their decision to join the PDP was due to the failure of the current APC-led administration in the state which they said, has failed to fulfill its promises to improve security and return the displaced people to their ancestral homes.

‎Speaking earlier, the 2027 Sankera House of Representatives hopeful on the platform of the PDP, Dr. Terris Damsa, commended the defectors for joining the party he described as the moving train and encouraged them to work for the growth of the party in Tombo Council Ward and across the Sankera axis.

‎Damsa maintained that, unity and grassroots mobilization would be key to the party’s success in the next general elections.

‎Also speaking, the Benue PDP State Youth Leader, Hon. David Mzer, thanked the people of Tombo for keeping faith in the PDP and urged them to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to enable them to vote out the APC government in Benue State in the 2027 elections, insisting that the administration had failed to meet its primary responsibility of government, which, according to him, was security.

‎In their separate remarks, the Tombo PDP Ward Chairman, Ushahemba Donald Gere, and the Logo LGA PDP Chairman, Hon. Adanyi Aondoaver, assured the people of Tombo that the PDP remained strong and well-positioned to reclaim power in the 2027 general elections.

‎In a related development, a new PDP office donated by Dr. Terris Damsa for the party in Ayilamo, Tombo Council Ward was also commissioned by the Zonal Chairman, Abraham Waroh.
