Oba of Benin supports NOUN to achieve It’s core mandate

Ewuare II, Oba of Benin has expressed solidarity with the Management team of National Open University, NOUN in realizing the institution’s vision and mission statements, by which it was established by the federal government.

Oba Ewuare who is the Chancellor of the University said this when he received the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Uduma Iji Uduma-led Management team at his Palace in Benin City.

The monarch prayed almighty God and his ancestors to imbue the management staff and principal officers of the institution with divine wisdom in piloting the affairs of the
institution

The royal father also acknowledged the long-standing leadership of the outgone Vice Chancellor of NOUN, Professor Olufemi Peters and his achievements during his tenure in the institution.

Oba Ewuare, assured that he will continuously carryout his responsibility as Chancellor of the University as he look up to the forthcoming Convocation of NOUN, as the Nigeria University with highest students’ population.

“To the new VC, you’ re a friend to the palace. Stay in touch”, the Oba of Benin said.

Addressing the monarch earlier, the Vice Chancellor of NOUN, Professor Uduma Iji Uduma, who was formally introduced to Oba Ewuare II by his predecessor, Professor Olufemi Peters, expressed delight over the visit, while describing the Benin monarch as a beacon of inspiration to NOUN.
