Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has intensified diplomatic engagement with the European Union as part of efforts to accelerate development across key sectors of the state’s economy.
Speaking at a meeting held at the EU Headquarters Tuesday in Abuja, the governor and EU officials, led by Ambassador Gautier Mignot, discussed expanding cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture and security.
Governor Mohammed reiterated that his administration is focused on reform-driven governance, institutional strengthening and creating policies that encourage foreign direct investment.
He said Bauchi State is open to strategic international partnerships capable of unlocking economic potential and promoting inclusive growth.
Ambassador Mignot welcomed the engagement, noting that the EU values subnational partnerships and would examine practical areas for collaboration with Bauchi State.
Officials present at the meeting included the governor’s Chief of Staff, Dr Aminu Gamawa, and Commissioner for Finance, Yakubu Adamu, who contributed to discussions on economic cooperation frameworks.
