Shocker as bandits seen in video advertising AK-47s, Anti-Aircraft Weapons to fellow terrorists

A disturbing video circulating online has shed light on what security sources describe as a coordinated illegal arms trade operating brazenly within a Nigerian town.

The footage, reportedly obtained by SaharaReporters, captures several heavily armed men inside a building where rifles, ammunition and other military-grade weapons were openly displayed. The individuals, some of whom partially concealed their faces, appeared unbothered by the recording as one voice, speaking in Hausa, promoted the cache to potential buyers.

Boxes filled with ammunition were seen stacked across the room, while an array of firearms lay arranged on the floor. The narrator in the background drew attention to both the stockpile and the armed guards present, presenting the scene as though it were a commercial showcase rather than an illicit operation.

Security insiders familiar with the clip expressed grave concern, noting that the development signals a worrying shift in tactics, with criminal elements allegedly embedded in urban areas supplying weapons to armed groups operating in forests and remote communities.

One source described the situation as alarming, claiming the video showed suspected bandits openly encouraging other armed factions, including herders in the bush, to procure sophisticated weapons such as AK-pattern rifles and anti-aircraft guns.

The source questioned how non-state actors could gain access to such high-calibre equipment, suggesting the possibility of powerful sponsors or a broader supply chain sustaining the network.

“There is a serious imbalance,” the source said, lamenting that while criminal groups appear equipped with advanced firepower, security personnel on the frontlines often contend with limited resources.

The official warned that if unchecked, the proliferation of heavy weapons among non-state actors could further endanger already vulnerable communities and deepen Nigeria’s security challenges.
