FCTA building 3 new Magistrate Courts – Wike

Federal Capital Territory ( FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike has said that his administration is making another intervention in the judiciary by constructing three Magistrate Courts.

Recall that the Minister had also embarked on the construction of 40 residential housing units for judges across the FCT High Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Federal High Court.

There is also an almost completed multi-court house and building complex meant to accommodate the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal.

Wike, who on Friday, inspected the project sites located at Asokoro, Jabi and Garki districts of Abuja, revealed that the buildings were designed to have multiple court rooms.

The Minister disclosed that the ongoing intervention in the judiciary was directed by President Bola Tinubu, and is intended to provide “definitive accommodation” and more courtrooms to improve the welfare and efficiency of the third arm of government.

While emphasizing the importance of providing befitting infrastructure for the judiciary, he also restated commitment to ensuring that all sectors of government function effectively.

Wike said, “The judicial arm of government is also very critical in making sure that people get the dividends on their request… there’s no particular reason why we must pay attention to one sector and leave the other sectors alone”.
