Gov Mohammed Ccondoles injured journalists, offers full medical support

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has expressed deep sympathy with journalists injured in a road accident while covering the commissioning of projects by the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in the state.

The accident occurred along the Bauchi Yelwan Duguri Road as journalists from Channels Television, African Independent Television (AIT), Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Bauchi State Television Authority (BATV), Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC) and members of the Correspondents’ Chapel were on official assignment.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the Governor thanked Almighty Allah that no life was lost in the incident, despite the severity of the crash.

According to the statement, the injured journalists were immediately evacuated to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, where they are receiving medical attention. Some of the victims sustained fractures and bodily injuries but are responding positively to treatment.

Governor Mohammed commended journalists for their commitment and sacrifices in the discharge of their duties and assured that the Bauchi State Government is closely monitoring the situation in collaboration with hospital authorities.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all affected journalists receive the best possible care until full recovery and prayed for their quick healing.
