The APC Youth Parliament has reaffirmed its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, describing rumours of a possible change in the 2027 presidential ticket as unfounded and politically motivated.
Chairman of the group, Kabiru Garba Kobi, told journalists in Bauchi that the Tinubu/Shettima administration had made notable progress since assuming office, questioning the basis of criticisms coming from some political quarters.
He accused former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, of seeking relevance through public statements that could undermine party unity.
Kobi said the endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term by the National Forum of Former Legislators was a welcome development, though he expressed concern that a few former lawmakers were attempting to politicise the issue.
Describing Vice President Shettima as visionary, humble, and patriotic, Kobi said his leadership continued to inspire young Nigerians nationwide.
He warned that any deliberate move to weaken the Vice President’s position would be resisted, stressing that unity within the APC remained crucial to its electoral success in 2027.
