In its sustained efforts to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes across Adamawa, the State Police Command has arrested two suspects for alleged kidnapping in Song Local Government.
According to the Command Spokesperson, SP Yahaya Nguroje in his press release said the police also recovered locally fabricated revolver rifle, two handsets, charms among others from the suspects.
SP Nguroje said the command’s operatives attached to Song Divisional Police headquarters in collaboration with hunters acted on timely and credible information and conducted raid on a suspected criminal hideouts situated at a remote site of Balma village, Song on the 24th January, 2026.
During the operation, two suspects, Shaibu Mohammadu, 30 years, and Ja’o Bawa, 31 years, of various addresses were arrested, he disclosed.
However, during the preliminary interrogations the suspects had confessed to their involvement in a series of kidnapping activities within Song and its environs, adding the exhibits would be tendered in the court.
Efforts are currently ongoing to track down and arrest other members of their syndicate who are presently at large, the Command assured.
The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, commends the giant stride and collaboration of the police and the community that led to this success and reassured members of the public the Command’s commitment to rid the State of criminal elements, he added.
While the command assured residents that all suspects will be diligently prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the land, members of the public were advised to continue providing timely and useful information to ease their operations.
