A human right activist and advocate, Alhaji Sanusi Lalan, has in strong terms called on President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to consider calls by groups of politicians and non poli tical for the immediate removal or redeployment of the State Minister of Defense, Bello Mohammed Matawalle.
Alhaji Lalan made the call in a press briefing in Gusau on Monday, insisting that, the failure of the appointee on addressing security challenges has become indisputable.
He said the calls coincide with sections 147 and 148 of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria that empowered the President to make appointment and removal of appointees when they fail to perform well.
“Section 39 (1) grants citizens right to express their concerns about non performance without fear of arbitrary arrest and section 40 also guaranteed right to freedom of assembly and association advocating for good governance”, Lalan has quoted.
Alhaji Lalan further claimed that, the defense Minister has not been cooperative in complimenting the efforts embarked upon by the Zamfara State Government under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal whose commitments facilitated great achievements that subsided the rate of insecurity in the state.
