Gunmen invaded Chacho village in Wurno, Sokoto State, and abducted a bride-to-be and her friends on the eve of her wedding scheduled for Sunday.
According to community sources, the bandits stormed the village at midnight,on Saturday and started shooting sporadically before whisking away the victims.
The bride,abd her friends and other relatives was preparing for her wedding ceremony scheduled for the following morning.
The exact number of those abducted is still unknown, but local sources confirmed that the gunmen directly targeted the bride’s house.
The state chairman of the APC, Hon. Isah Sadeeq Achida, confirmed the incident, but the details were still unclear at the time of reporting.
Wurno local government area has been experiencing a series of bandit attacks.
However, efforts to reached the local government council officials for their comments failed.
