Kano State Government has called for the immediate arrest of Former APC National Chairman Dr Umar Abdullahi Ganduje and the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, for allegedly inciting Public using Bandits attacks on the soil of the State as an excuses.
The called for the immediate arrest and prosection of Ganduje and Barau Jibrin was part of the State NNPP Government 34th Executive Council Meetings resolutions, which they alleged that the duo are helping Bandits to attacks Kano at Will..
However, the state government has accused Ganduje and deputy senate president Barau Jibrin for making comments which incite bandits to attack some communities in the state.
The resolution was read to the Journalist’s by the Kano state commissioner information and internal affairs Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya said “Also, Council deliberated extensively over the recent inflammatory statements made by a former Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the Deputy Senate President Barau I Jibrin, who alleged that the State is vulnerable to banditry and further announced plans to recruit 12,000 individuals under a proposed religious police outfit named Khairul Nas.
The Council noted; That the utterances were inciting, reckless, and capable of undermining the security efforts of Kano State Government and the President Tinubu led administration, which demonstrated genuine concern for the plight of its citizens and had continued to work tirelessly to safeguard their lives and properties across the nation.
“That, less than 48 hours after the statement, suspected bandits infiltrated some border communities in the State, raising concerns that the remarks might have been premeditated or linked to the assault.
Accordingly, the Council; Reaffirmed its appreciation of the Federal Government and security agencies for their ongoing support in the fight against the insecurity and therefore called for the immediate investigation and arrest of the former Governor for attempting to create an illegal militia groups
They urged public figures to avoid making statements that could incite unrest and assured citizens of the Government’s commitment to maintaining peace, law, and order across the State.
“Furthermore, Council appreciated the efforts of the committee assigned to ensure that allottees of houses in the Kwankwasiyya and Amana Cities occupy their properties or risk revocation of ownership.
“Accordingly, Council appreciated those who complied and ensure that their own houses were occupied in line with the government`s instruction and further reaffirmed that the previously issued December 31st deadline remains in effective.”
