President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the immediate withdrawal of all police officers currently assigned as escorts to VIPs nationwide.
The directive, announced in a statement on Sunday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, mandates that the affected officers return to core policing responsibilities within their respective communities.
According to the presidency, the decision is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public safety and boost manpower for regular security operations across the country.
