President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is holding a prolonged security meeting with Nigeria’s top military and security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
In attendance are the Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Air Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), among other key security heads.
The closed-door meeting comes amid rising security concerns across the country, especially the recent abductions of schoolchildren in Kebbi and Niger states, which have sparked nationwide anxiety.
This development follows the President’s announcement on Sunday that 38 Christian worshippers kidnapped in Eruku, Kwara State, had been successfully rescued.
Details of the ongoing meeting are still emerging, but expectations are high that the President and the security chiefs will roll out stronger measures to curb the growing wave of kidnappings and insecurity.
