Ondo Reaffirms Commitment to Better Camp Facilities and Stronger Support for Corps Members

Ondo State has restated its dedication to improving the experience of corps members posted to the state, with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa announcing new investments aimed at strengthening comfort, safety, and welfare. At the swearing-in of the 2025 Batch C stream in Ikare Akoko, the state confirmed the approval of a 216-bed hostel for the NYSC permanent orientation camp, a project described as a major step toward modernizing camp infrastructure.

Represented at the event by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Segun Henry Omoyofunmi, the governor emphasized that the administration is working closely with security agencies to keep every community stable and peaceful. He encouraged corps members to embrace discipline and service, and to take the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme seriously as a pathway to a secure economic future.

The governor also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to paying monthly stipends without interruption.

State Coordinator Kuburat Omowumi Bakare expressed appreciation for the continued government backing, noting that the new hostel and improved welfare measures position the current orientation exercise for a more secure and productive service year. She appealed to employers, community leaders, and host organizations to provide corps members with supportive environments.

The ceremony drew top officials, including the state police commissioner, representatives of the judiciary, and traditional leaders, reflecting broad institutional support for the new corps members.
