Breaking: Court Convicts Nnamdi Kanu on FG’s Terrorism Charges

A Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on three out of the seven terrorism charges brought against him by the Federal Government.

Delivering the judgment on Thursday, Presiding Judge James Omotosho ruled that the prosecution had presented strong and “uncontroverted” evidence, including video interviews where Kanu issued violent threats against Nigeria and its citizens. The court also reaffirmed that Kanu made several broadcasts that incited violence and killings in furtherance of his separatist campaign for Biafra.

Justice Omotosho stated that the evidence before the court clearly supported the charges, leading to Kanu’s conviction on count one and two others.

The decision marks one of the most significant turning points in the long and highly sensitive case, which has attracted national and international attention for years. Reactions are already building across the country, especially in the South-East, as Nigerians await the next steps in the legal process.
