PDP Blames Politicisation Of Security By APC On Kebbi Schoolgirls’ Attack

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has blamed the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the abduction of Kebbi State schoolgirls, and said APC preferred to politicise governance over the protection of citizens.

PDP in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong on Monday, said the abduction further highlighted the alarming rise in insecurity and the reality of life majority of Nigerians are living under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

PDP stated that when a government fails in its primary duty of safeguarding lives and property, “it must accept responsibility and deal decisively with the issues, rather than act aloof or attempt to deflect from the core issues, as this administration has repeatedly done.”

The party noted that apart from the Kebbi schoolgirls abduction, there have been similar incidents in Nasarawa, Plateau, Kano and Katisna States in recent time, adding that this is not the renewed hope that was promised Nigerians by the ruling party.

“We therefore call on President Tinubu to devote urgent and sufficient attention to securing the lives and property of Nigerians so that this tragic cycle can finally come to an end. Or do we want a foreign country to threaten the government on this?” PDP asked.

It commiserate with the parents of the abducted students, the family of the slain Vice Principal, as well as the staff, students, and management of the affected school, and the government of Kebbi State.
