Chelle disclosed that during the penalty shootout, the guy did some voodoo by shaking a bottle containing water or something and that was why I took him on after the tie.
“He was busy shaking the bottle each time a penalty was to be taken and I saw it clearly that the guy was using the voodoo to control the ball” Chelle said.
Apart from that the Super Eagles coach also accused the guy of calling the names of each Nigeria’s penalty taker everytime the penalty was about to be taken.
“This was why I attacked him after the tie but rescued by security men and officials of both Nigeria and DR Congo who prevented me from dealing with him,” he said.
Chelle’s reaction after the match we gathered might cost him a fine from the world football governing body FIFA and sanctions.
Nigeria lost 3-4 in the penalty shootout after playing 1-1 at the regulation time of 120 minutes with Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi and Moses Simon.
The Congolese will now proceed to play in the Inter-Confederations playoffs to be played during FIFA window from March 23-31, 2026.
South America’s Bolivia and Oceania’s New Caledonia have already qualified for the final playoffs where two countries will emerge for the World Cup finals in USA, Mexico and Canada next year June
