PDP Crisis: Wike’s Faction Schedules NEC Meeting

The faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, in the ongoing crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has scheduled to hold National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Tuesday.

PDP had suspended Wike and other leaders of his group, during last weekend’s National Convention in Ibadan Oyo State.

The convention also dissolved the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) headed by Ambassador Umar Damagum, which was elected in 2021.

A new set of national leaders of the party was duly elected at the convention with former Minister of Special Duties Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN as National Chairman.

But in a statement signed by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Secretary in the dissolved NWC, said the faction’s Board of Trustees (BoT) would hold in the morning, before the NEC meeting.

The PDP National Secretariat which has been locked since November 3, according to the notice of the meeting, will be the venue of the meetings.
