Soludo, Deputy, Receive Certificates of Return From INEC

Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma  Soludo, and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, have received their Certificates of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following their re-election for a second term in office.

The brief presentation ceremony took place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the INEC headquarters in Awka. The certificates were presented by Dr. Ken Ukeagu, INEC’s Supervising National Commissioner and Chairman, Tenders Board Committee.

The event was attended by family6y members of the governor, including his wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, and their children, as well as top government officials and party faithful of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Notable dignitaries included the member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency, Hon. Pascal Agbodike; Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Ben Obidike; Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Hon. ThankGod Anagor; and members of the Anambra State House of Assembly.

Speaking after receiving the certificate, Governor Soludo described the just-concluded election as free, fair, and credible, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to its success — especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he commended for ensuring transparency and fairness in the process.

“I want to assure you that with my Deputy, our team, and the continued support of Ndi Anambra, we will make Anambra shine even brighter,” Soludo said.
“I will work harder in my second term than I did in the first. At the end of eight years, Anambra will look back and be proud that the confidence reposed in me was not in vain.”

The governor extended an olive branch to his fellow contestants, urging them to join hands with him in the collective effort to advance the state’s development.

“I call on my brothers and sisters who contested with me to join hands so that together we can make Anambra a model state and a destination hub in Nigeria,” he appealed.

Soludo attributed his overwhelming victory to divine providence, while also acknowledging the contributions of INEC, the security agencies, the media, and APGA supporters.

“My first thanks go to Almighty God for performing the miracle of this victory. I also thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his firm stance on ensuring a credible and transparent election in Anambra State.

“I appreciate the INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Queen Elizabeth Agwu, and all INEC staff for conducting a free, fair, and credible election,” he added.

In his remarks, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, a former APGA aspirant in the Anambra South Senatorial bye-election, congratulated Governor Soludo and commended President Tinubu, INEC, security agencies, and party supporters for ensuring a peaceful and credible poll.

Onunkwo also pledged his support for the governor’s administration to help actualize his vision of making Anambra a livable and prosperous state.
