Unhappy Lookman Deletes Atalanta on Social Media After Brawl with Coach

Ademola Lookman has once again sparked controversy in Italy after unfollowing Atalanta and removing all references to the club from his social media platforms.

The Nigerian forward’s latest move follows a heated touchline bust-up with Atalanta’s head coach, Ivan Juric, during their UEFA Champions League clash against Olympique Marseille on Wednesday night.

According to reports, Lookman was visibly frustrated after being substituted in the second half and exchanged angry words with Juric. The situation quickly escalated, forcing members of Atalanta’s technical staff to step in and separate the pair.

The fallout appears to have carried over off the pitch, as Lookman has now erased all Atalanta-related posts from his social media pages — a move that has fueled speculation about a potential breakdown in his relationship with the club.

This is not the first time the 28-year-old has taken such action. Lookman also unfollowed Atalanta last summer after the club refused to sanction his transfer to Inter Milan unless their €50 million valuation was met.

Lookman has been one of Atalanta’s standout performers since joining from RB Leipzig, playing a key role in the team’s domestic and European campaigns. However, this latest incident casts fresh doubt on his future with La Dea, as tensions between player and coach continue to rise.

Neither Atalanta nor Juric has issued an official statement regarding the altercation or Lookman’s social media purge as of press time.

Fans will now be watching closely to see whether this public fallout leads to disciplinary action — or even a January exit for the Super Eagles star.
