Nigeria’s Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has named a 24-man squad for the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup African Play-off tournament set to take place next week in Rabat, Morocco.
The list features the return of goalkeeper Maduka Okoye and Spanish-based forward Chidera Ejuke, who are back in the team to strengthen the attack and goalkeeping department. They join first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, captain William Ekong, and top striker Victor Osimhen in the squad.
Also included are defenders Bright Osayi-Samuel, Calvin Bassey, midfielders Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, and wingers Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze.
Nigeria will face Gabon in the first semi-final of the Play-off on Thursday, 14 November, at the 22,000-capacity Complexe Sportif Prince Heritier Moulay Al Hassan in Rabat. The second semi-final will see Cameroon battle DR Congo at the 18,000-capacity El-Barid Stadium, also in Rabat.
Meanwhile, defender Oluwasemilogo Ajayi will miss Nigeria’s semi-final clash after receiving a one-match suspension for yellow card accumulation during the qualifying series.
The selected players are expected to arrive in Morocco from their various clubs on Monday, 10 November.
