Abia, Model In PHCs In Nigeria – Otti

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State says his investments and reforms in the health care sector have made the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the state a model in Nigeria.

Governor Otti stated this while commissioning the retrofitted Eziama Ubakala Health Centre in Umuahia South LGA.

The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Health, Professor Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche, explained that at the beginning of his administration, Abia State ranked 36th out of 36 states in primary health care delivery and expressed joy that things have changed for good.

He said the functionalisation of the health centre marks another milestone in the administration’s commitment to revitalizing the state’s primary health care system.

The Governor said his administration is not just renovating facilities, but setting new standards, as the Eziama Ubakala Health Centre, like the ones commissioned earlier, has equipment people rarely find even in general hospitals.
