Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr reportedly threatens to leave after a heated El Clasico clash and a furious reaction to being substituted by Xabi Alonso.
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior is reportedly seriously considering leaving the club after an emotional outburst during Sunday’s El Clasico victory over Barcelona.
The 25-year-old was visibly upset after manager Xabi Alonso decided to substitute him late in Madrid’s 2-1 win at the Santiago Bernabéu.
According to Goal, Vinicius angrily shouted, “Always me!” before adding, “I’m leaving the team. It’s better I leave.” He then stormed down the tunnel but returned a few minutes later to rejoin his teammates.
Tensions didn’t cool after the final whistle. The Brazilian was spotted in a heated exchange with Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, sparking a brief scuffle before players from both sides intervened.
Sources close to the player suggest that Vinicius has been frustrated with tactical decisions, ongoing criticism from fans and media, and what he perceives as unfair treatment from referees in La Liga.
Despite being one of Real Madrid’s most influential players and a key part of their post-Benzema rebuild, Vinicius’ recent behaviour has raised questions about his long-term future at the club.
As of now, neither Vinicius nor Real Madrid have issued an official statement, but the fallout from Sunday’s drama could reignite speculation about a potential transfer next summer.
